Government Launches Help To Grow: Digital Scheme

Designed to support smaller businesses to adopt digital technologies to permit them to grow, the government’s Help To Grow: Digital scheme has now launched and is open for applications.

Under the scheme, according to a GOV.UK press release, eligible organisations will be able to get discounts of up to £5,000 off the retail price of approved Digital Accounting and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software from the leading software developers, which can help small businesses better manage finances and build customer relationships.

Businesses will also gain access to practical and specialised support and advice that will help them choose the best digital technologies to help boost growth and productivity.

The Help To Grow: Digital scheme was released to sit alongside the Help To Grow: Management scheme, launched in 2021, as part of the government’s efforts to help UK businesses and level up the economy.

Rishi Sunak said that small to medium-sized businesses form the backbone of the UK economy, adding that when the scheme was announced during the most recent Budget, he wanted to help businesses become more innovative and competitive.

“Help to Grow: Digital will help them to grow and flourish by adopting new technologies that are proven to improve processes and boost productivity, levelling up their digital technology and skills,” he said.

The Help To Grow Schemes aim to assist businesses to boost their productivity with training and software that has been proven to get the right results.

However, the Digital and Management schemes are just the beginning, as the government is aiming to release more products that will help SMEs to grow, including software to help businesses improve online sales.
